Price range: R200.00 through R360.00

An anaerobic natural Red Bourbon from the highlands of Bujumbura Province, Burundi — grown at 1,700–1,900m. Expect notes of raspberry, caramel, nectarine and molasses with a silky, wine-like body. A showstopper for filter coffee lovers and a brilliant introduction to specialty East African origins.

From the elevated highlands of Bujumbura Province in western Burundi, this exceptional anaerobic natural showcases the best of what East African specialty coffee has to offer. Grown at 1,700–1,900 metres above sea level, the Red Bourbon cherries are sealed in airtight tanks without oxygen — a precise, controlled fermentation that unlocks remarkable fruit complexity before the cherries are sun-dried on raised beds.

The resulting cup is richly fruited and deeply satisfying, with none of the harshness that uncontrolled fermentation can bring. A coffee that reveals something new with every brew.

Tasting notes: Raspberry, caramel, nectarine and molasses, with a silky, wine-like body and clean finish.
